In the spring of 2000, the Provincetown Art Association and Museum (PAAM) provided approximately 100 small, pre-cut panels of Masonite for artists to work on. Each artist was to take one home, work on it and bring it back as a finished artwork. The resulting works were exhibited at PAAM and offered for sale to the public in a Silent Auction–a fundraiser for the Museum with artists receiving 50% commissions. The fundraiser was a huge success. Blue Petals was purchased from the Silent Auction, then donated to the Museum Collection about a year later.
